Our Mississippi Adventure
The Magnolia State
This will be a 2 trip state. We passed through here briefly in December, 2009 and will have to return to do it justice in the future.
We are now in Mississippi serving as campground hosts at the Chewalla Lake Rec Area in Holly Springs National Forest. We are about 40 miles from Memphis, TN in a beautiful, peaceful forest. We take care of 3 sets of bathrooms, 2 sets of showers as well as keeping the trash picked up and the fire pits and grills cleaned out. So far so good but I'm sure it will be busier between Memorial and Labor Day. We have 5 Canadian Geese which call this home and we now also have 9 gooslings (baby geese?). We have seen wild turkeys, turtles but no deer yet. We will be here until at least after Labor Day and hopefully will have another campground to go to in the fall. We go to town one day a week for laundry, groceries and computer catch-up time. Due to the price of fuel this may be the only way to see America at this time.
