Our New Mexico Adventure

Land of Enchantment

We came into New Mexico and made our first stop Roswell where we visited the UFO museum and watched a film based on an actual alien abduction. Then it was south to Carlsbad Caverns. It was a nice tour as we took the unguided tour for free since Devyn was autistic. We spent about an hour and a half there. Then we dropped into Texas and returned on I-25 which was described as the "scenic route". It was, expecially if you are from Florida. We spent the night in Truth or Consequences (there was a TV show by that name). We continued north to Socorro where we picked up US 60 and a speeding ticket. Sheesh and I was really trying to be careful. Guess I missed the sign taking it from 45 to 35. US 60 was a nice ride into Arizona. Before getting to Arizona we stopped at the VLA; Very Large Array. It is a radio astronomy area where they have 27 large dishes set up in a "Y" configuration with each dish being 75' in diameter. Devyn also saw and ate some snow at a picnic area along US 60. We will be back as there is more to see.
