We've been fortunate to be friends with John And Devyn since 2005. The bond between them is incredible. John's priority is always his son's wellbeing. Even working full time he always made sure Devyn was cared for in school or by a trained caregiver. John's spirit as a Marine shines through as a dad; Once a Marine, Always a Marine. They have hiked and backpacked together and whether practicing at the Civic Center in Pensacola or on a weekend trip on a trail one can tell they were a real team continuously bonding. Last year they set off to tour parts of America on a long camping trip. They named their trip "Autism tours America" and had a great time across the south and southwest. Now with a 33' trailer they are preparing to resume their tour of America. We can't wait to see them when they travel South Carolina. They're dear people with hearts of gold. If you're lucky enough to spot them as they travel be sure to say hi.. Carol & TJ Blue

Some of the signs to look for are 1) Lack of or delay in spoken language; 2) Repetitive use of language and/or motor mannerisms (e.g, hand-flapping, twirling objects); 3) Little or no eye contact; 4) Lack of interest in peer relationships; 5) Lack of spontaneous or make-believe play; 6) Persistent fixation on parts of objects.
